New Oil & Gas Well Locator Provides

Amazing Search Features

WOW!  We believe Gusher readers will love the new Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Oil & Gas Well Locator. It is an online, interactive map that allows users to search for oil and gas wells and related information in the state of Ohio.   It replaces the well locator map that we have posted for the past year.

The locator allows for three types of views:  aerial, street and topographical.  Users can conduct a search by either well or parcel.  The layer search feature provides several options including well API, well name, well company name or foundation.  The identify palette allows users to identify features on the map by point of rectangle selection.

Users can find addresses and coordinates; use bookmarks; search by townships; and use six draw and measure options.

Check Status of Local Horizontal Wells

June 18, 2013

These maps have been superseded by the "interactive" map shown

above and should be used for reference only.

The following map was provided by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. It shows the status of horizontal wells: 1) permitted, 2) drilling, 3) drilled, 4) completed and 5) producing.  The ODNR posts updates to the state map each month.  Once posted, CCGusher will upload it here.
